Rome dressed up

Here are some pictures from my neighborhood:

bad attempt at an advent wreath/jesse tree down the street from me

perhaps a clearer image of same liturgical decoration

this tree appeared yesterday outside the same church down the street from me.  today when i walked by, though, it had a great green box around the bottom of it, perhaps to keep the break-dancers out of the tree.

it was morning, so already light, but these lights strung across the street are lit, shining a path to the pantheon in the back

here i was clearly taking a picture of rome's decorations, but the police officer bottom right got a little nervous.  another stepped out of the green box there, and smiled and greeted me.  afterwards i figured out they probably thought i was taking pictures of them.

It's beginning to look a lot like Christmas!
