and an update on the ants

after the last ant post, they seemed to take a vacation.  for about 3 weeks.  in the meantime, the mosquitoes moved in to keep me company during the night.  then, this morning before i rolled out of bed and my eyes were still trying to focus (on finding my shoes)--what i first saw was an ant.  but he wasn't alone.  he'd brought a bunch of friends with him.  apparently, their vacation had ended.  so, before leaving for school this morning, i spent my time killing ants, making lunch, changing sheets, and getting the separated garbage together out and divided for their special collections.  then i ran off for lauds and Mass.

by the way, once at school a friend brought a traditional italian cheesecake ("torta di fromaggio) to celebrate Easter.  only, it wasn't really a cake.  it looked like one, and the texture was much like one.  instead, though, it was meant to taste like cheese flavored pizza.  it tasted a bit like saltines with a subtle hint of cheese.  during "extra greek" today, sister brought swiss chocolate to share.  i shared some of it with "extra latin" after, and found that i was not the only one with that idea, as father brought special croatian chocolate with him and rice krispy treats.  in contemporary history class today we spent the hour discussing royal succession and saint cults--not even touching our textbooks.  school is fun.
*paper writing is less fun.
