i went to firenze with a few friends earlier this week, and we stayed in a convent of the Institute of the Sacred Heart.
there they had many beautiful statues, and many beautiful trees. this crucifix is along a winding, shady drive leading up the hill from the street to the actual convent, beside which stands the above image of the Sacred Heart.
even the pigeons find hospitality there! (and, unfortunately, a good many mosquitoes as well.)
i liked the view from the arno of the side of the river with the convent--and i liked seeing the tower in the background.
