Monday of first week in Lent

Station:  St. Peter in Chains

Today the Church in Rome celebrates the feast of Fra Angelico.  I went to pay him a visit this afternoon, and the candle at his tomb was lit and he was all decorated with flowers.
Then I went to school, and there were parrots in the trees by the gates!

Parrot in tree at Angelicum this afternoon

 Quote from True Spouse:
All, but particularly nuns, as we have said above, should make it a general rule to eat sparingly at supper, even when there is some apparent necessity for a plentiful meal; for in the evening all are subject to a false appetite, and therefore a slight excess will occasion, on the following morning, headaches, fullness of the stomach, and by consequence a repugnance and incapacity for all spiritual exercises.
The context is moderation in diet--making sure you stop eating before you're full, or else you won't be able to pray and study afterward.  And, intemperance leads to all sorts of sins.
