Near Busan, Day 4-5 (overnight in traditional inn)

 The whole family--three generations--packed a lot of food, and some clothes and toys, and we gathered in this old-fashioned little inn in the countryside just north of Busan.  They cooked their food on two little charcoal grills, and we had Korean-style barbecue.  Look closely, and you'll see how to wrap the meat with condiments and fixings in a lettuce leaf before eating.  I never did quite get the knack of it, but I tried.

 We filled up the four rooms of this inn.  Very little furniture was provided, and it was different in each room.  My room (shared with my two friends) had this victrola and a sewing machine for decoration.  We slept on little blankets spread out on the floor.  (By the way, each room did come with modern bathroom, fortunately.)

 The women prepared a lot of food--all the side dishes--but allowed Takahiro-san to wash the rice.

Here, some of us are sitting along the corridor in front of our rooms.  The large clay jars on the left of typically Korean, and probably are holding fermenting soybeans for soy sauce, miso, and fermenting vegetables for kimchi.
