I live over the chocolate shop, and the Column is in the Piazza here. Every year on December 8, the Holy Father comes to pray in front of this image of the Immaculate Conception. I was fortunate to be able to wait for him above the crowds, on the roof of some of my neighbors. From there, one has a good view of St. Peter's as well.
